Description:
Manny is a serious LOVEBUG! This little 5.6lb man wants nothing more than to sit on a lap. When he’s feeling secure, he’s extremely friendly and will happily invite himself to sit in complete stranger’s laps!
He also loves other dogs, and will seek them out and sit next to them whether they want him to or not. He likes a bit of gentle play, but a really rambunctious dog (or child) would be too much for him given his tiny size. He would definitely do best in a home with at least one other dog to pal around with.
This peanut doesn’t bark much, and he’s not aggressive, though he has been known to chase the occasional rabbit, or garbage truck, so it’s best to keep a close eye on him outside.
He LOVES to bask in the sun outside, but he is very much a homebody - walks are not his favorite - so you may need to carry him a block or two from the house before putting him down for a walk.
Manny is clever. He will push doors open with his nose, so if there are areas of your house that you don’t want him, you may need to come up with extra methods to keep him where you want him.
He adores chewing on sticks and bones, and is a typical Chihuahua in that he likes to burrow into blankets! If you let him sleep in your bed at night, he will be under the covers! He also does the classic “Chihuahua tremble” – shaking all over when he’s cold, nervous or excited.
This little boy is partially house-trained. He understands what he is supposed to do outside, but he does still have the occasional accident inside. His foster family continues to work on it, but he will need an adoptive family who will be patient with him and continue to work consistently with him.
With a little bit of patience, Manny will be an absolute dream-dog – an affectionate, sweet, loving companion for both you and your current dog.

Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history.
