Meet Chica!

Chica (a.k.a. Chewie) has found herself in a sad situation. She spent her entire life loving a girl since that girl was 4 years old. Chewie was her loyal friend through all the ups and downs of school, friends and breakups. But the girl grew up, had a baby and could no longer keep Chewie. In her golden years, Chewie deserves a nice person or family who will love and cherish her. She is very affectionate and loves attention. Chewie walks well on a leash, but also loves being carried in a person's arms. She really enjoyed having her photos taken for the MARS page and rewarded the photographer with snuggles and kisses.

Chica loves her naps, but still gets a burst of energy to round around and play with her humans. She loves people and gets along well with dogs and cats. It may take her some time to warm up to men, but she just loves her male companion at her foster house. She did great at the family's Christmas Eve celebration, even with children running around.

Chica would prefer living in a house with older children or an adults-only house where she can nap all day. Some cozy blankets and a warm spot in the sun would be heaven for her. Chica is potty trained and has had no accidents at all, even when left alone uncrated for several hours. You can guess where she'll be while home alone - napping in her bed! Chica is really the most low maintenance girl you can find. She is looking forward to bringing lots of love to her forever family!

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS. We do not transport to potential adopters.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
