Description:
Hi my name is Penny. I was lucky enough to be brought into rescue by MARS after my family lost everything. My companion Toby is also available for adoption. I am doing well in my foster home, but am taking a while to adjust to the dog in the house; hopefully soon I will realize their value their humans see in them. I would be better off in a home with out them though.
My adoption fee covers my rabies, distemper, microchip, spay and FIV/Feluk testing which was negative. My entire medical has been completed. She is looking for someone just like you. Click the ADOPT button below and meet this incredible cat who is looking for a fresh start!
Thank You!
Foster Update;
Penny is an easy kitty to love. We call her Burt (after Burt Reynolds) cause of her mustache.
She is very comfortable in our hectic house, and adjusted very quickly to all the change. She has been great with a very temperamental resident cat and I think she would integrate fine into a multi cat house, as well as house with kids. Penny is the cat who walked into the middle of the living room during a kid's birthday party. She tolerates all kinds of kitty indignities bestowed on her by my 8 year old daughter.
She loves to get affection, and tolerates being picked up and held, but she prefers to sit next to you and get her petting. She has the softest fur and is just about the easiest kitty ever.
So far Penny/Burty only has 2 flaws: she hates dogs, and she is a door dasher. She lets herself be caught, but does enjoy giving chase for while before conceding to going back inside.
When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care. Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS. We do not transport to potential adopters. How to learn more about a pet: Complete the application (click on the button above) to start our process for adopting or fostering a MARS Pet. Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history.
