Poor Joey arrived at MARS with a broken leg. After xrays, it was determined that the break had happened several weeks prior and was already starting to heal on its own. Joey will need a splint for a few more weeks and his leg will have a bend to it since he did not receive medical attention right away, but it doesn't seem to bother him at all!

Joey is a very happy and energetic puppy. He's really glad to see me when his foster parents come home, and a little sad when they leave for work. He gets excited to go on short walks (due to his broken leg) or go for a ride in the car. Very curious and loving, he'll come to you and give you cuddles. Overall, a super sweet companion, and when he heals, a super fun doggie!

Joey is a sweetheart who loves to give kisses! He doesn't let the problems with his leg get him down - always a happy guy who wants to play or cuddle. He likes to play with his four-legged foster sister, but seems to prefer human company over canine companionship. Joey is very trainable - he knows "sit" and "lay down" and is making progress with "stay" and "come". He is fully house-trained and crate-trained. He will sleep in his crate at night if required to, but he much prefers to sleep on the bed by his human's feet if he's allowed. He snuggles right into a nap for any long-distance car ride, and seems to enjoy boat rides too!

He's a fun-loving guy who likes normal doggy things like playing fetch, playing with dog toys (check out the video below), and chewing on Kongs, antlers, and Nyla-bones. He also really appreciates a nice massage to help him relax - check out the video below to see for yourself. Joey is looking for a forever home that will continue to support his healing process with his leg, and then help him become the AMAZING dog he's capable of becoming!

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS. We do not transport to potential adopters.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
