Description:
Meet Rhianna! We also call her Remy. Remy is a sweet terrier mix. She was surrendered along with 3 other dogs from her home. She is dog friendly and doesn't appear to have any issues with cats. She loves people. If you are looking for the playfulness and cuteness of a puppy, but want a dog that is house, crate and leash trained, then Remy is your girl! She is just a gem - friendly to all people and dogs she meets, eager to play with anyone, and fully accepting of a good belly rub.
Remy sleeps outside of a crate at night with no issues. In the morning, she is so happy to see everyone, eat breakfast, and play-wrestle with the resident dog, you can't help but smile back at her! She loves playing with toys, flipping them up in the air, rolling around the floor with them, and playing tug or fetch. She also likes her chew things like Kongs and antlers. She seems to enjoy going to the toy basket and taking things out one at a time to play with (check out the video below). On a few occasions she has played with household items like blankets, towels, and socks - she just needs some redirection back to her toy box and she does fine. She understands "Sit" and is definitely ready and able to learn more obedience skills. She enjoys chasing the other dog in the fenced in yard, and would likely do very well at a dog park. Remy has short tan fur with some black mixed in, which seems easy to care for and sheds very little. She can often be found spread out on the floor with her back legs stretched behind her (check out the picture below), just chilling while she watches the humans make dinner or do chores. With the curl in her tail, and ears that are cocked just slightly different from each other, she has a sweet look to her that is hard to resist - just meet her in person and you'll see for yourself!
When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care. Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS. We do not transport to potential adopters. How to learn more about a pet: Complete the application (click on the button above) to start our process for adopting or fostering a MARS Pet. Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history.
