Description:

Meet Oliver!

Oliver and his sister, Olivia, were found as strays and no one came to claim them. They are a beautiful pair who have obviously been taken care of well. They are now coming to MARS to find themselves forever homes.

Oliver is super-handsome, with chocolate brown-and-white short smooth coat, short freckled legs, long tail, and a sweet face. He is mellow and friendly, not mean bone in his body, and is a champion cuddler.

Update from the foster home:
Oliver is living his puppy years at the age of 4. Everything to him is new and exciting! He is learning that he has a long tail attached to his body, so low objects may need to be moved out of the line of fire with his tail. He has learned how to walk on a leash without pulling as long as he is wearing a harness. He has also come a long way with his general commands, but work is still needed.

Oliver is a true cuddle bug and sleeps well through the night on the bed. Oliver plays well with all the other dogs. Because of his puppy like demeanor, during the day he is kenneled, and then out for the rest of the evening. He has lost quite a bit of weight and is looking pretty handsome.

His true beagle and basset hound comes out in the morning with smelling all the new scents in the yard. He loves to explore and lay in the sun. Oliver would be great in a home with another dog who likes to play and run around, but is NOT a dominant dog. He would also be great as a single dog home but, he would need to have the option to go to a dog park or play with other dogs.

If you are looking for a dog who loves to lay on your lap or next to you and cuddle, and bring some exercise to your life, Oliver is the dog for you.

*Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
