Description:
Meet Reginald!
UPDATE FROM HIS FOSTER MAMA: We’ve done A LOT of training with manners: sitting, walking, staying, sitting quietly/patiently in his crate, waiting for humans to go up/down stairs and through doors first, etc since he has been here and he is turning out to be quite a wonderful little dog. It was obvious he’d never had “rules” before but he’s following ours very well, he is quite smart and catches on superfast, is enjoying his training and really likes to please us. He loves treats and is food motivated in training but doesn’t pester or beg when we eat dinner or snack on the couch in the evenings. His brain is in his nose so his recall isn’t great if he’s busy investigating something, but we’re working on that too and it’s about 50% right now. He doesn’t run away from us when we call him, he’s just really busy sniffing at some awesome distraction and turned his ears off temporarily =) And he rides in the car wonderfully. Oh and he lets me cut his nails without too much of a fuss – just tries to wiggle to get away but ultimately gives up and let’s me do it. I’m really proud of his progress in such a short time and looking forward to what else we can teach him before his forever home is found! He’s really an awesome dog. He LOVES to run and is staying in our large yard really well – but if a squirrel were to cross his path he’d likely tear off after it. Someone with a large yard or fenced yard would be ideal. He likes his morning walks with my husband and I and our Dane, but he still pulls on the leash some so we’re working on that too and he is catching on quick! (He isn’t pulling to lead – he is pulling to sniff.) He loves other dogs, big or small, and plays with my Dane really well. I know he’d enjoy a home with another dog, but he’d be ok as an only dog too as long as his owners played with him. And he thinks kids are just the best thing around - they are so loud and bouncy and exciting and he just wiggles, wiggles, wiggles his little butt in pure joy when they are around! =) But I recommend, NO CATS unless the cat likes to play. I don’t think that he’d ever hurt one on purpose (pretty sure there isn’t a mean bone in this little guy’s body) but he DOES CHASE, and we are working on that.

Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history.
