Meet Morgan!

Foster Update 5/3/14

Lucy goosey is such a great girl. Lucy is calm and for the most part quiet. She is a watchdog as she will bark when someone comes to the door. However, she is not yippy, just likes to let us know someone is coming. She would love nothing more than to just sit on the sofa next to you for hours. Lucy loves people of all kinds, she had been wonderful with my friend's one year old. She had been around the vet cats and really could not care less about them. She puts up nicely with my 90lb golden and had found her spot on the bed at night. One amazing thing is that Lucy goes to the farthest point of the fence to do her business (wish she could teach my golden to do that). Lucy knows her name and comes when she is called, she also loves a treat and will sit nice to take it. Whoever decides to make Lucy a part of their family will be one lucky person.

Foster update:
Morgan is potty trained and can have full range of the house without getting into trouble while you are gone, so no need to kennel her. She just wants be wherever you are and getting lots of hugs and kisses from you. She does really well in the car and enjoys riding along while I do our errands. She also walks wonderfully on a leash and will stay by your side the entire walk (she likes the walks and could use a few more short walks a day as she does need to loose a little weight). Morgan gets along very well with the other dog in the house but has no interest in playing with him, or much interest in playing with toys as she prefers just being around more with the human’s. She sleeps great at night and would make a wonderful companion especially for an older couple or someone who wants a laid back, quiet dog.

Update 4/17/14. Morgan is now called Lucy. Lucy had her pups 3/8/14 and has almost finished her work with them. Now it's time for Lucy to get her own things taken care of. She got her spay done and will be having her heartworm treatment in June. The treatment is covered by MARS. The only special need she will have is a period of 3-4 weeks of lower activity right after the treatment. It's Lucy's turn now to get herself a forever home!

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS. We do not transport to potential adopters.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
