Description:
Meet Lettie. Lucy is a very happy, energetic, and fun dog. She is potty trained and is now used to having free roam of the house. She sleeps on a dog bed next to Sidney (resident dog), so needless to say she gets along pretty good with other dogs. Being young, and previously neglected she does seem to want to be the numero uno dog as she loves attention so much...but all-in-all she is really mello while in the house. We are not crating her, and she has only had a couple challenges...she chewed a little on my mom's shoe and took care of a couple of Jillian's stuffed animals... so, since she is young it looks like she is still working on growing out of the chewing stage. She does not chew furniture or anything major though. It looks to be something that she will grow out of and with proper training it will not continue or be an issue. Lucy absolutley loves kids, many times I have woke up to hearing Jillian(5yr old daughter) laughing because she is playing with her. When I take Sidney and Lucy on walks, Lucy's ears perk up and she starts waging her tail when she sees and/or hears a kid. She walks good with Sidney, and Jillian is able to hold Lucy's leash while I walk next to them with Sidney. We feed Lucy and Sidney at the same time and there hasn't been an issue with food aggression. Lucy is a dog that wants to please, she seems to want to make you happy, and by the look in her eyes it seems she is very grateful to people that are nice to her. Lucy listens very well (she got loose a couple times, but by kneeling down and calling her name in a "happy" voice she came back instantly). She is a good dog and with some positive reinforcment and love she will be a great dog. Since she came from a shelter it appears that many things are new to her...she has figured out how to use stairs, and she seems to be in awe of things with wheels (cars, bikes, etc.) and birds.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history.
