FOSTER UPDATE: Monica is doing great!
She came into our home like she has been living with us her entire life. Currently she lives with a three year old and and a one year old. She ADORES them. She also lives with a seven year old female golden retriever
and a six year old male yellow lab. She also ADORES them. She lives with one kitten and one cat. She adores the cats!

Monica appears to be housetrained because she has had no accidents since I have had her but I also am very aware of when to take her out. Overall she is an amazing dog. She loves to give kisses and she is a great cuddler:) She was in her kennel the first night but since then she has been in my bed with us and she cuddles in and doesn't move all night long! She will make a great family dog.

We are working on a few things. She loves to jump up so we are working on down. She also doesn't know any commands but I am teaching her sit, lay down and stay and she catches on really fast....treats are a big incentive! I am also using hand signals as I teach her and she does well overall. She pulls on the leash and is very strong and we do work on this but I am also a runner and so I take her running with me and she is an AWESOME running partner. She has major wiggle butt so I definitely see more bully breed in her than Shepherd at times.

Overall she is a great dog and SO sweet.

Meet Monica a very polite German Shepherd mix girl. She is at an overcrowded shelter and needs your help to get out! We cannot pull her without a foster or adopter and she is an amazing girl! She does well with cats, other dogs, kids, and adults. She will spoil you with doggy kisses and love if you just find it in your heart to help her get out!

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS. We do not transport to potential adopters.
