Description:

ABSOLUTE PRETTIEST BLACK AND TAN COONHOUND WILL MAKE THE BEST NEW FAMILY MEMBER EVER!

Mira Belle is a kind, gentle soul who somehow lost her family and had been sitting in a shelter for the past 7 months.
She's come to us all the way from Virginia. (She reminds me of a dog that Jed Clampett might have had back at the house in the Ozarks- pre Beverly Hills! Even though their dog, Duke, was a blood hound)

This girl is low maintainence- she doesn't need the world handed to her on a satin pillow. She'd be more than happy to lie at your feet while you are watching tv or reading. As long as she is anywhere near you- and can get a good belly rub here and there, she's going to be happy.

Nothing ruffles this humble girl's feathers- she is as sweet as they come!
She would make a wonderful family pet- or- a great new best friend for someone who wants a mellow companion by their side.

Mira Belle has so much love to give!! Laid back and easy going, this girl is as loyal as a dedicated friend could be.

She is, however, very particular about which dogs she will become friends with- so a home without other dogs would be best. Mira Belle wants you all to herself!
She is obsessed with cats- no cat within a mile would get a moment of peace with this girl around, so NO HOMES WITH CATS!

Don't think you can just give her a few pets and be done- Mira Belle will let you know she wants MORE... a lot more!

This sweet girl is all about LOVE and affection and is ready to bond with you!!! You should really make arrangements to come and meet her! Be ready to fall in love!

MORE ABOUT BLACK AND TAN COONHOUNDS

Black and Tan Coonhounds are known for their even temperament and for being outgoing and friendly. Due to their hunting instincts, care should be taken in introducing these dogs to cats or other small pets. Also due to their hunting instincts, they should never be turned loose or exercised unless within the confines of a securely fenced yard. (no invisible fences!)
Black and Tan Coonhounds are devoted, loving, and entertaining members of the family. As adults, they are typically not overly active and prefer to relax where you are. Coonhounds are also typically not big chewers, although if you buy them a chew toy, they will work on it for hours in the evening while you and the family watch TV.
As members of the hound family, they tend to be very sensitive dogs and don’t like to be in trouble. They’re prone to cuddling and snuggling and despite their large size, will turn into canine pretzels in order to fit in that little spot next to you in bed or on the couch.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS.  We do not transport to potential adopters.

How to learn more about a pet: Complete the application (click on the button above) to start our process for adopting or fostering a MARS Pet.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance.  Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.

Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed.

If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history.
