Meet Heidi!

This poor girl was sitting in a cold cell, waiting for someone to rescue her and we did. Heidi is a really sweet, gentle girl who is just wanting someone to share her life with.

When Heidi came into the shelter, she was scared and shy but is doing much better now that she is in foster care. She is craving love and attention and she really does deserve it.

Heidi trains exceptionally quickly! This week she has learned sit, down and shake. What a gal! Wish all the dogs learned as fast as she does! I can tell that she feels better having concrete ways to please.

She is definitely a bed sleeper. She would sleep on the floor until my husband closed the front door on his way to work and then sneak up on the bed. Shockingly, he let her sleep on the bed last night. Many times I wake up and see her cuddling with one of the cats or kittens. She is a sucker for the kittens though! She is so gentle with them!

Heidi would make a great addition to any home.

NOTE: Heidi needs a completely fenced yard that is at least 5 feet high. Anything lower and she can jump it. She loves to run free.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS. We do not transport to potential adopters.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
