Meet Hefty!

Meet Hefty. Hefty was quite the looker in his younger years, but is now happy to just kick back and maybe watch some sports on the TV. He would be a great companion animal for any homebody that also just likes to enjoy the golden years. Hefty comes from a rural area and appears to be completely house trained. He does not like to be crated, but not a problem as he just catches 20 winks wherever is cozy. He also responds well to attention from anybody; big, little, young or wise! He has no interest in cats or young pups. So he may have lived as an only dog. He does not make the normal Pug noises, being much too dignified to snort, but he does like his tongue to catch a breeze occassionally. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS. We do not transport to potential adopters.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
