Description:

Little Baxter is an official sweetheart of a lap cuddler.

The moment you sit to relax, he will help himself to hopping on your lap and settling in for a siesta. It's best you take a moment and relax with him.

For being an older puppy, he is a chill dog. Loves to run and play with the resident dog and he minds her look when she is getting annoyed.

Walking on a leash is a new concept and he likes to criss-cross, dance to the left and dance to the right... more walks with his foster mama and he will get this sticking to the side. It is best he has a harness as he is prone to coughing. Sometimes he has things to say when on walks, especially with larger dogs. He is just not sure how to meet new dogs while one leash.

His number one goal is to please and likes to check in with his little kisses. He is highly affectionate and sensitive and wants to please and be loved and know he's a good boy. Passing by a mirror, he has stopped to admire his good looks and barks to confirm it.

At this time we do not know how he is with kids or cats and would likely do best in a home without shared walls.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS. We do not transport to potential adopters.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
