Who doesn't LOVE our little angel Cindy Lou! We have all had so much joy watching this girl blossom from medical mess to the sweet playful pup she is now! This sweetheart was born with a condition called Atresia ani, which means she was born without a rectal opening! She has had to endure multiple extensive surgies to correct this to the best of their ability with the University of Minnesota's Veterinary Medical Center. She will never be normal, and we love her for that! Maintance care is needed with a laxative daily to keep her stools from becoming to formed, and should be monitored by a veterinarian once a year to ensure everything is going well. Due to the extensive care she required, she did not receive a lot of socializitation growing up as she had to be kept on exercise retrictions and could not go run and play like a regular pup. She is an absolute sweetheart once she warms up but is a nervous pup until then. Cindy Lou is extremely loyal and loving once she has bonded and is great with other dogs.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS. We do not transport to potential adopters.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
