Meet George George is one of the many babies who were taken from the home of a hoarder. They were going to be (ahem) "destroyed". How could we turn away from them in their darkest hour?!? These adorable little kitties were found in deplorable, filthy conditions and they were very dirty when pulled from the house. They had not been handled by humans as much as they should have so they have some catch up work to do on their social skills and will need a few crash courses! George is slightly smaller than his littermate O'Malley, but has the more voracious appetite of the two. He growls at any other animals that come within a couple feet of him if he's found a crumb on the floor, or a kitty treat! We laugh and pick him up, then let him finish in our laps. What a tough guy! George is more of a momma's-boy. He will come running when I call "kitty" in a high voice, and look up at me and mew at my ankles until I pick him up and "groom" him. He's an adorable little boy! *Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care. Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
