I thought you might enjoy this picture of Cleo. We've never encouraged her to get on our furniture and this is the 1st week she has ever got up on it. She's doing great, she has a long way to go but has made amazing progress. If we could just dial back some of her energy. She acts more like 3 1/2 months then 3 1/2 years old.She loves attention and is doing really well traveling. I think she likes the motorhome better than our house, so do we too.

5 year old, female German Shepherd who is very gentle and has so much love and affection to give someone. I am living with my foster parents and doing SO well since I came. I was a bit timid when I first got there but once I felt safe I was fine. I bond very quickly to new people. They are teaching me so many new things and I learn so fast they really are impressed with me. I have already learned to sit and have my leash put on before going outside. I can sit on command and am learning to lie down and stay. I love to take walks and do so well on either a leash or a harness. I just like to walk!

I love to be around people and other dogs. I have a foster sister who is a black lab and I love lying next to her for naps. One of my favorite things to do is play with my squeaky toy and eat cheese! I am not aggressive with people, dogs or food. I am very easy going. I love to ride in a car and go new places.
I am house trained and will find my leash to go out or whine when I need to.

My foster Mom says I have the prettiest brown eyes she has ever seen. She says that my eyes and my adorable disposition is what makes me so lovable. I love to have my tummy rubbed and could lay for hours while someone is doing it.

I am ready to go to a “forever” home. My foster Mom says I will be such a loyal family member to someone. I have so much love and affection to give.

Cleo was limping on her left rear leg when she arrived but she seems to be doing just fine now.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS.  We do not transport to potential adopters.

How to learn more about a pet: Complete the application (click on the button above) to start our process for adopting or fostering a MARS Pet.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance.  Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.

Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed.

If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history.
