Description:
Hello Daaaarlings!
Congratulations, on making the best decision of your week; to check out my website!  I came into rescue with the name Petunia, but lately I have been going by Foxy, as it describes me much better!

MARS bailed me out of doggie jail (the pound), where I was brought in as a stray.  So, very little is known about my past, but I do know one thing about my future: I am excited for a new start!!  The vet approximates my age at about 7 years old but my foster dad says I usually act like a puppy!  Well, except when it comes to bathroom time, in which case I am FULLY trained!  Speaking of training, I am also crate trained too!

I have already lost 3 pounds in the two months I have been in foster, and am now used to daily 20 minute walks.  I walk really good on a leash and I also know how to "sit" however I would really like for us to go to some obedience classes together so I can learn more!  I also like to play in the yard but I am a bit of a "bolter" so anyone interested in this little diva will need to keep me on a leash or have a fence; obviously I prefer the latter of the two!  :)

I do REALLY well with kids...infact, just a couple weekends ago I was at a cabin with a four and five year old, who dressed me up and carried me around like a doll!  I never nipped and even kinda liked it!  I mean, who wouldn't want all that attention!!  It would be wonderful if I could go to a home that had kids, who could keep me busy and vice versa!

In terms of other animals...I have not been cat tested yet so we would have to try that out, but I do okay with other dogs.  My foster dad describes my behavior as "indifferent" as I am nice to them, but I don't necessarily want to play.  I would love to be the only dog in your life, but the only K9's I absolutely cannot live with are large breed dogs, because they scare me...even if they completely ignore me!  MARS thinks I may have had some bad experiences with one of those big 'ol beasts so please keep 'em out of my way!

My foster dad describes me as kind of a cheerleader...I am always peppy and adventurous and a joy to be around!  I know I may not be as young as some of the other little chicas you might be looking to adopt, but age is only a number...and I am proof of that!  Fill out an application so you can meet me, and I'll show you in person how cute I am!

Check ya later,
Foxy

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS.  We do not transport to potential adopters.

How to learn more about a pet: Complete the application (click on the button above) to start our process for adopting or fostering a MARS Pet.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance.  Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.

Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed.

If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history.
