Description:

Revere came from a rural puppy mill. He has never lived a day of his life as a normal pet in a home, with the love and attention a pet deserves. It is possible he has never even been petted in his life. He is being rescued from that terrible life, but now he needs a special family to help him learn what it is like to be a dog.

Because Revere is from a rural breeder, it is likely that he will not be potty trained when he arrives. He will also need help with socialization and adjusting to life in a home environment. Fenced yards and a home with other stable dogs to show them the ropes are best for dogs coming from this type of situation.

Update from FOSTER:

The person/family that scoops this guy up will be so happy! I'm very
surprised that hasn't happened yet! We have dubbed him AJ Peabody and
that funny little name is very fitting for this affectionate, sweet,
resilient, little Boston Terrier. AJ has fit into our daily routine
very well. He gets outside first thing in the morning, then after a
couple scoops of chow for breakfast he enjoys a nice 30 minute walk
with his foster sister Marilyn (a 50 pound Shar Pei). Since my
fiancee works at home, AJ either gets to sleep on a towel by his feet
or outside in the fenced yard. He follows the sun and sleeps very well
in the grass, dirt and path. An after work walk gets him ready for
another hard evening of sleeping and more food. Finally he snores
softly at the foot of our bed. The number of accidents indoors has
fallen and occur mainly when he has been inside for more than 4 hours.
Our larger dog doesn't need to go out as often so we are learning to
be attentive to that. AJ has quirks (he absolutely loves to sit on
laps, sometimes he wants to mark inside, and when he first arrived he
wouldn't eat much) but with a fitting schedule and a good leader, he
is wonderful.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS. We do not transport to potential adopters.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
