Meet Chang!This sweet boy looks like Toto from The Wizard of Oz. As a Cairn Terrier mix, he does not shed a lot. He has a perfect balance between a playful silly ball chaser and a lap dog to cuddle up on a couch with. Chang is very affectionate and comes over to be petted and have his little belly scratched. He is so delighted when invited up on the foster's lap to cuddle, he's practically smiling. He loves giving kisses to people he meets and enjoys every opportunity to do so. In his foster home, Chang loves playing with a little girl, chasing toys and balls that are thrown to him. Check out his new videos!

He's doing great with learning a housetraining routine. His foster mom had him wearing dog booties to make sure he is able to spend sufficient time on walks in the frigid weather, and he didn't mind those at all. After walks and playing, Chang settles in his dog bed and enjoys a good nap. He rarely barks and only briefly to announce there's someone at the door, or that the crazy Roomba robot is gliding across the floor and moving his toys around. He is crated when the foster family is not home - not a big fan of the crate, might bark and whine a bit, but settles down quickly

Chang likes to please and is likely to do well in obedience training. He always keeps an eye on his humans to check what they're doing, and whether his foster mom approves of his little shenanigans. He enjoys learning good house manners.

Chang has a typical Terrier drive. He is good with dogs that are OK with a boisterous playmate, but may be too playful for sedentary or older dogs. We've not had him around cats and expect that cats might receive a bit too much attention from Chang.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS. We do not transport to potential adopters.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
