Meet Baxter!

Meet Baxter, a 6 year old Cockapoo, looking for a new home. He reluctantly had to be surrendered by his current owners after 2 new babies joined their family. Baxter became a little jealous and anxious. He is a great dog but would prefer a new home without very young children (under 12).

Baxter is kennel trained. He enjoys walks and runs. He loves to lick! He loves to travel in the car and has done some cross-country road trips. He loves to play with a tennis balls.

He is good with other dogs but does get anxious if they want to live in his space. He is great dog if you have allergies to dogs (low dander and hair). He is very smart and can be trained to do tricks or jump really high for a treat!

He is a little exuberant about human food but doesn’t object to spending time in his kennel while his owners eat. He has some seasonal allergies, which can cause him to itch and sometimes get skin/eye infections. He has been well taken care of and is up to date on all his immunizations and veterinarian check ups.

Baxter is looking forward to finding a new home and owners to enjoy!

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS. We do not transport to potential adopters.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
