Meet Collin!

Collin requires:

* A home with a secure fenced yard

* A another dog in the home

* No young children

Collin is transitioning to a world of caring and love from a rough start in a hoarding situation. His first four years with little human contact left him a bit distrustful of people and unsure of what a good dogs life could be.

Yet he is remains resolute, brave and willing to learn! Collin is so handsome. His big brown eyes are extremely watchful, wondering what's next on this new journey. He loves being outside, is always ready for walks, exudes pure joy in the snow and so enjoys playing with other dogs. He walks well on a leash and can go for hours!

He is not quite sure about his role with people. He likes to watch other dogs to see how they interact with humans. Collin is taking treats out of the fosters hands and trusting them more and more each day. He enjoys petting sessions every day on the foster’s lap, and demonstrates increased willingness to tolerate touch and affection. He rides in cars wonderfully and has gone on trips up to 2 hours quietly relaxing in the back seat.

Collin has come so far, emerging into his own dog persona, after being freed from his 4 years incarceration. He has a long way to go, but his spirit is strong, and he exhibits desire to be close to people. He just needs more experience and confidence that he is loved and people are ok. He's going to be a great addition to a family.

He does need a fenced yard, a home with no children and humans with patience and a soft spot for such a distinguished and regal guy who just a wants to be a dog.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS. We do not transport to potential adopters.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
