Meet Monkey!

Monkey is a non-shedding terrier mix. He is potty trained, crate-trained (8 hr work day), and house trained. He does great with free range of the house whenever his people are home (day AND NIGHT)

Monkey currently lives with 2 adults, 3 cats & 3 large dogs, and is adored by all. He's done fabulous with people of all ages (the children he'd interacted with all know and display basic pet-etiquette, but we don't know how he'd be around unpredictable toddlers with quick movements).

Monkey and his 2 brothers (Sam & Oreo) came to MARS when their care-taker passed away. All 3 are heart-worm positive. Monkey and his brothers have long & full lives to look forward to and will undergo curative heartworm therapy. The cost is Included in their adoption fee. Monkey began his treatment on October 10th. Once he gets better, he will need to be on a heart-worm preventative for the rest of his life, but so is any other dog in our climate. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS. We do not transport to potential adopters.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
