Description:
UPDATE: Cocoa has been staying with his foster family for about 4 months. Initially, he struggled getting used to the Minnesota climate. But, with the help of a doggy coat and his 3 foster “Yorkie” brothers he was able to overcome that hurdle extremely well. He also was able to conquer going potty outside!
Cocoa is a very loving dog, who LOVES to curl up on the closest lap he can find! Or burrow under a blanket. He is a very good listener and follows commands quite well. He likes to go for walks, but he's just as comfortable just going outside to potty and coming back in the house. He does like to play with the other dogs, but has a pretty laid back personality.
Because of Cocoa’s laid back personality and love for snuggling on laps, he probably would be most comfortable in a home without young children. However, he interacts with other house dogs very well.
Let me tell you a little about my self-
I’m courageous, charming, and I love, love to cuddle! I love to curl up in warm laps and burrow under warm blankets. Oh…and, I love hugs and kisses
I’m adjusting very well to the frozen tundra here in Minnesnowta! But I have to be honest coming from Oklahoma, I have had a few accidents. My current foster home has 3 Yorkies, so they have been showing me the ropes on going potty outside, and if they can do it so can I!! My foster parents say i have been doing an excellent job, and they give me lots of praise and treats.
I may be 6 years old, but I’m a great listener and a quick learner. I’m anxiously awaiting a forever home. I am hopeful that I can change their lives, and I’m confident they will change mine forever!
Love, Cocoa
When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care. Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS. We do not transport to potential adopters. How to learn more about a pet: Complete the application (click on the button above) to start our process for adopting or fostering a MARS Pet. Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history.
