A Transformation is coming this fall!!!

We are in the process of revamping our entire curriculum for obedience training. We will incorporate human/canine communication, dog behavior/psychology, and even games to help you gain a better understanding and a more solid relationship with your dog. In Basic Obedience you will learn all the skills that we feel are necessary to keep your dog safe and give you a solid understanding of your dog, give him the skills so he can be the dog you can be proud of, and let him be seen as a "good dog" by your friends.

Dog obedience training is one of the most important elements you can have in a relationship with your dog. It can and should accomplish six very important benefits for you and your dog.

  • Creates a strong adn healthy bond between you and your pet.
  • Opens up the communication between you and your dog. This helps give you the basic ideas of what you want from your dog and helps your dog understand and respect what it is you are teaching him.
  • Gives your dog knowledge of the boundaries you are setting with him. Boundaries help your dog become more responsible to you and your family as well as other dogs, animals, and people as well as create manners you expect in any situation.
  • Helps lay the groundwork that prevents the development of unacceptable behavior and bad habits such as chewing, digging, barking, biting, jumping, peeing in the house and many others.
  • Training your dog from the beginning will eliminate confusion. Once your dog begins to understand what he needs to do, everyone's life gets a whole lot easier!

It is fun and rewarding to train your dog. You will gain confidence knowing that you can  trust your dog in many situations. Learn with your dog, the basics for a happier dog and owner.

Canine Good Citizenship

CGC is a certification program that is designed to reward dogs who have good manners at home and in the community. The Canine Good Citizenship Program is a two-part program that stresses responsible pet ownership for owners and basic good manners for all dogs. All dogs who pass the 10-step CGC test may receive a certification from the American Kennel Club.

MARS offers four levels of training in preparation for Certification Testing and has certified examiners to administer the tests. Certification not only demonstrates that your dog is considered safe adn polite in public, but in some instances, renters insurance could be decreased as well as having insurance companies agree to lighten their restrictions on dogs labeled as "dangerous breeds".

CGC Preparation is broken into 4 training levels. Students must start at Level One and progress through each level toward certification.

Level One Saturdays 9:30 AM
Level Two Saturdays 11:00 AM
Level Three Sundays 9:00 AM
Level Four Sundays 11:00 AM

Classes are $45 monthly. Test fee inlcuded at Level Four

CGC Testing is done quarterly with multiple test applicants. The schedule for the current year will be posted shortly!
